What is the fascination in being polite?

I always feel being right is more important than coming across as politeness. No offense, but most of the times when people as you to be polite, they expect you to just accept what they say without raising any opinion. If truth hurts, so be it. I would rather live my life, knowing I have been true to myself than knowing I have cheated myself for everyone else.

All of us are trained from our formative years through reinforcement of behavior. If you do this, I will give you chocolate. If you do that, I will hit you or I will not speak to you. Our thoughts get modified in way that our guardians want it to be. I fear most family problems arise, when these modified thoughts combine with our original thoughts to create a volatile amalgam.

Kids should be taught to express themselves and learn from their experiences. Guardians should help facilitate these processes and not direct it the way they want.
